Para sport is on screens this week, and its whole idea is a fair contest between unequal athletes.
Staggered StartLevel a lopsided game
The same person wins every time? Say who won how many of your recent games and get a head start for everyone else that fits the game itself - a share of the target score, a piece, a turn or some time.
1 The game and the record
Then each player and how many of those games they won (draws count for nobody). Two to six players.

3 Fit the handicaps to your game
One run turns each head-start size into a handicap in your game's own terms - a share of the target score when you give one - explains each from the wins, adds one catch-up or turn-order rule for the table, and suggests another way to play when a gap is too wide. The page re-checks every size and amount. Games with money riding on them are declined.

How the sizes work
The leader is whoever won the most of your recent games. For everyone else the page compares (leader's wins + 1) with (their wins + 1) - the +1 keeps a single game from counting as a landslide. Under 1.5 times: no head start. Under 2.5: a small one, 10% of the way to winning. Under 4: medium, 20%. Under 7: large, 30%. Seven times or more: no head start can fix it, so try another way to play. Play a few games with the new starts, then update the wins and level it again.
Keep it safe: never pick a handicap that risks injury, removes safety gear or involves alcohol. A games-night toy for play among friends - not coaching, sports-classification or professional advice. Nothing you type is kept unless you press save.
